Daniela Bockius completed her Master’s Degree in Osteopathy at Donau University Krems, Austria (2020–2023), further advancing her expertise in paediatric and clinical osteopathy. Previously, between 2007 and 2009, she undertook a scientific postgraduate study to obtain the D.O.® qualification, presenting her thesis titled “3-year observation study of osteopathic and clinical parameters in children diagnosed with postural asymmetry.”
Her osteopathic education began at the Sutherland College in Wiesbaden (1999–2004), where she received comprehensive training in structural, craniosacral, and visceral osteopathy. Before that, she trained as a state-approved physiotherapist at the Mainz University Medical Centre (1991–1993), following her general higher education qualification in 1990. In 2003, she successfully passed the official examination to become a Heilpraktiker, obtaining permission to practise medicine independently in Germany.
Since 2025, Daniela Bockius has been serving as a Lecturer in Paediatric Osteopathy at the Sutherland College / German College of Osteopathic Medicine in Schlangenbad, where she teaches clinical paediatric osteopathy to postgraduate students.
She is the Chairperson of the Forum for Paediatric Osteopathy Rhein-Main e.V. (since 2007), through which she promotes interdisciplinary exchange, research, and continuing education in paediatric osteopathic care. From 2011 to the present, she has also been an Advisory Board Member of the Verband der Osteopathen Deutschland e.V. (VOD) – the leading professional association of osteopaths in Germany – contributing to national standards for professional practice and education.
Between 2015 and 2020, she co-founded and acted as spokesperson for the Ostra Academy for Traditional Osteopathy, fostering advanced postgraduate training in traditional and biodynamic osteopathic approaches.
Since 2002, she has maintained her own private osteopathic practice in Ingelheim am Rhein, with a specialisation in osteopathy for infants and children. Her practice focuses on paediatric neuromotor development, cranial asymmetries, infantile reflux, and postural dysfunctions.
Previously, from 2002 to 2010, she worked at the Centre for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. During this time, she treated premature babies, infants, children, and adolescents in various clinical settings, including the neonatal intensive care unit, oncology, and developmental neuropaediatrics. Her role also included teaching medical students, conducting interdisciplinary case studies, and participating in clinical research and conferences.
Earlier in her career, from 1993 to 2002, she worked as a physiotherapist in practices specialising in paediatrics, neurology, and orthopaedics, as well as in a therapeutic daycare centre for physically and multiply disabled children. Between 1997 and 2001, she also served as an assistant and lecturer in continuing education seminars on the “Brunkow facilitation system.”
