Giacomo Consorti

Giacomo Consorti is an Italian osteopath, lecturer, and researcher whose work bridges osteopathic clinical practice, pedagogy, and performance science. He is Co-founder of Osteopathy Track & Field (OTF) and Coordinator of the Education Department at the Istituto Superiore di Osteopatia (ISO) in Milan. He currently serves as Board Member and Treasurer of the Registro degli Osteopati d’Italia (ROI) and as ROI Delegate to both the Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA) and Osteopathy Europe (OE), where he contributes to the Education and Research Committees. He also represents ISO within the European Osteopathic Academic Network (OsEAN), contributing to international curriculum development and faculty training.

Since 2012, Giacomo has been active in medical pedagogy, collaborating with the Italian Society of Medical Pedagogy (SIPeM) for over a decade. Within SIPeM, he has contributed to national and European projects in faculty development for health professions education, as well as initiatives supporting innovation in teaching and assessment. He coordinated national communication activities for the society and served as faculty developer and lecturer in postgraduate education programs for health professionals.

He teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate osteopathic programs at ISO, focusing on fascial and structural osteopathy, research methodology, and the integration of scientific and philosophical frameworks within osteopathic reasoning. His approach merges biomechanical, neurophysiological, and enactive dimensions of human function.

Clinically, Giacomo works as an osteopath specialized in sports biomechanics and injury prevention for elite track and field athletes, collaborating with Bracco Atletica and the Italian National Track & Field Athletes, and conducting biomechanical movement analysis at MoveMed Milano. His practice integrates osteopathic principles, performance monitoring, and evidence-informed strategies to optimize athletes’ performance and reduce injury risk.

At the international level, he contributes to academic development through the Osteopathic Education for Teachers course organized by OsEAN, where he will serve as faculty in Amsterdam (2025–2026) and Vienna (2026–2027). He is also an invited speaker for the Osteopathie Schule Deutschland Congress (Berlin, 2026), where he will deliver the workshop “The Neuroaesthetic–Enactive Paradigm in Osteopathy: From Perception to Clinical Reasoning,” and for a Masterclass in Germany (2027) titled “The Neuroaesthetic–Enactive Model Applied to Myofascial Chains.”

His forthcoming book, “The Myofascial Chains in Osteopathic Practice” (to be published in Italian, 2026), explores the integration of fascial system dynamics and embodied perception within osteopathic reasoning, bridging biomechanical and enactive paradigms.

His current research focuses on the neuroaesthetic–enactive paradigm in osteopathy, the role of myofascial chains in movement and somatic function, and the integration of osteopathic approaches in sports contexts. Through the OTF working group, he collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals to promote education, research, and clinical innovation in sports osteopathy.

Osteopathy Track & Field (OTF) is a specialist working group co-founded by Giacomo Consorti, operating in the field of osteopathy applied to sports with a particular focus on track and field.

OTF promotes excellence in education and clinical support for athletes through three main areas:
• Performance: integrating biomechanical assessment, strength and conditioning strategies, and osteopathic functional optimization for sprinters, jumpers, throwers, and distance runners.
• Prevention: developing myofascial screening protocols, movement analysis procedures, and osteopathic intervention programs aimed at reducing the incidence of injuries in athletics.
• Education: delivering advanced courses for osteopaths and sports professionals on topics such as myofascial chains, the neuroaesthetic–enactive paradigm, clinical reasoning in sports osteopathy, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Across its educational channels, OTF emphasizes its ethos “For Athletes, By Athletes — Performance · Prevention · Recovery · Training,” highlighting a hands-on, athlete-centred philosophy.
