Lluís is deeply involved in the professional regulation and advancement of osteopathy in Europe. In 2015, he became the CEO of the Registro de Osteópatas de España (ROE), the national professional registry that represents and accredits qualified osteopaths in Spain. In this role, he has contributed significantly to the recognition and standardization of osteopathic practice at a national and European level.

He was also the Spanish Head Representative at the CEN Technical Committee (TC 450) responsible for developing the European Standard EN 16686:2015 “Osteopathic Healthcare Provision”, a landmark document that defines professional competencies and ethical standards for osteopaths across Europe.

Since 2020, he has been an active member of the Osteopathy Europe Board, currently serving as the Vice-President (VP) of the organization. Within Osteopathy Europe, he plays a key role in the Research and Communication Committees, promoting collaboration among European institutions, researchers, and professional bodies to strengthen the evidence base and visibility of osteopathic healthcare.

Beyond his clinical and organizational commitments, Lluís M. Horta is a passionate international lecturer and educator. He regularly teaches postgraduate seminars and continuing education programs in Europe and South America, focusing on topics such as clinical reasoning, evidence-based osteopathy, person-centred care, and integrative healthcare models. His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, reflective practice, and the use of scientific evidence to inform osteopathic decision-making.

He has presented his research at several international conferences, including events in London and other European capitals, contributing to the global dialogue on modern osteopathic practice and its role in multidisciplinary healthcare.
